What kind of businesses do you accept?

We accept retail, professionals, trade shows, mail order, telephone order, Internet based, and home based businesses. Sorry, we don't knowingly allow band or illegal or offense businesses as under current English law.Top

What if I have less than perfect credit?

Our system is not based on credit trading since SpartaPay deal in cash only. Top

What credit cards will I be able to accept?

We accept only cash, online payments, BACS, mobile payments and micro payments. Top

Are there any monthly fees for the service?

None whatsoever. Top

Do I need a business account in the UK?

Yes, you need to be UK based or have a UK registered company for SpartaPay to verify your identity under money laundering regulations in the UK. Top

What is the lowest charge you will go to?

SpartaPay charges initially 10p per transaction but will reduce this to 7p per transaction or even 5p for volume business, that over 200,000 to 500,000 regular users. Please note: Banks charge up to 35p for cash withdrawals or deposits so that will be added (often not shown as they are ‘hidden’ charges in your monthly or quarter bank statement. Every bank charges a fee for processing and our fees are added on top of this rate the banks charge which may add another 1.5% to 2% per transaction. Our rates are exceptionally low, starting at just 1% for retail (swiped) merchants and 2% for mail order/telephone order and Internet merchants, subject to actual volume of business. Top

What is the Address Verification System?

SpartaPay does not use this as all payments are done through risk free processes, except micro payments or direct payments. If you sell via mail order/telephone order, or through the Internet, you don't want to send a product to a false address and have a risk of receiving a chargeback. The Address Verification System (AVS) lets you enter the customer's home address and compares it to the address on file with their credit card company. If someone uses a stolen card, and wants products shipped to a false address, AVS will detect this for you. Top

Will I receive a statement?

No. A statement can be copied from the website for your records each time you want this, it is free. Top

How will I get my money?

Your money will be deposited directly into your current business checking account by BACS less our charges. All funds are available within 48 hours. Top

How do I apply?

Just fill out the free, no obligation, online merchant account application. We will contact you within 24 hours (not including weekends and holidays) and let you know what program you have qualified for, and answer any questions you might have. If you would like to go ahead with your application, we'll send you a simple hard-copy application package. When you receive it, you will sign where indicated, and return it along with the requested documents. Top

How long does the approval process take?

Once all necessary paperwork is received, most accounts are approved once we receive a positive bank reply. Once approved, we will immediately inform you of your acceptance and inform you of the linking mechanism. Top
